Who Am I?
My name is Sean, and I’m a Law Student here in Los Angeles. As many of you may know, a large percentage of our population here speaks Spanish, and bilingual people are in high demand. So, I thought I would learn Spanish to help make myself more marketable when I enter the job market. I first started trying to learn Spanish roughly about a year ago. I bought a couple Spanish cds, which helped me learn a few words, but not much. In order to help with my Spanish, I joined a website called LatinCupid.com. To be honest, I though of it as just a way to do some online flirting and learn Spanish at the same time, but I later met Silvia, a girl from Mexico, and we really hit it off. I was, however, still struggling with Spanish when trying to chat with Silvia on the internet, and talking to her on the phone was definitely out of the question. (You try talking with someone in foreign language on the phone without the use of hand signals sometime.) That is when I tried Rocket Spanish. This program was far superior than the books and cd’s I tried before, and my Spanish really began to improve. Now, I would not say I am fluent yet, but I do find myself to have complete conversations in Spanish even on the phone. I can also watch Telemundo and understand what is being said most of the time.
